Altenew Floral Cards

Today I played around with an older set from Altenew, which was part of a class I found on their website from 2021.  These were cards that I slightly modified to make them a little more my own, but the general design is credited to Altenew!

The set is called Elegant Motifs and comes with a stencil, stamps, dies, and a 3-D embossing folder. (I used a different stencil to create the stripes.)

ATC Challenge Week 29 - Washi Tape

This week's challenge prompt was "washi tape."  I don't know how I accumulated so much of it, because I really don't use it very often.  I think I need to get a little more creative and start finding ways to put it to use!

For this ATC I first added three strips of different washi tapes.  I then just wet the background (water color paper) and dabbed it with some different colored water color markers.  I spritzed it some more to make it bleed.  The butterflies were already in my "bits and pieces" drawer.  I used a label stamp to make the words and cut them out, then I used my Tim Holtz distressing tool to rough up all the edges.

ATC Challenge Week 28 - Honeycomb

This weeks prompt is "Honeycomb."  I have several different sets with bees, a honeycomb stencil, but I decided to go with this honeycomb background/cover die from Stampin' Up that I got many years ago.

After doing a little smooshing on some water color paper with Distress Oxide inks I then added the cover die.  I used some of the pieces that were cut out to layer with.  All the pieces were distressed with some brown ink.

The bee and flower images are from Pink & Main, colored and die cut.  After adhering to the background I did some splattering with some brown paint. The final touch was some glitter glue on the bee's wings.

ATC Challenge Week 27 - Diamond

Today's prompt for the ATC 52 week challenge is "diamond."

Several ideas came to mind, mostly because of different things I have in my stash of supplies (diamond shapes on various stencils, argyle paper that has a diamond shape, a cover plate die that creates a stitched pattern of diamonds) however I decided to go with the idea of a real diamond because I knew I had this die for making wedding cards.

I did some smooshing to create my background with Distress Oxide inks, added a little paste with a stencil, then put a little glitter over it.  I also stamped some script from a background stamp with a wedding theme.

ATC Challenge Week 26 - Just Add Water

The prompt for this weeks ATC challenge was "just add water."  This can be interpreted in a lot of different ways.  I used water spritzed into my distress oxide inks and then smooshed the ink onto my water color paper.  I also used some dew drop embellishments that look like very real water droplets.   To add some more texture I heat embossed the circles and stamped some script.

Tiki Folder Card

I tried a new technique today, not sure what it's called, but I have seen it many times and finally decided to try it!

I first ink blended a piece of white card stock with some bright colors, making them rather dark, and not worrying if they looked smooth or were blended well.  I then used the 3D folder from this month's Spellbinders Club with the inked side face down.

After removing the card stock from the folder the side with the color was the debossed side, so I used a black ink pad and swiped over it.  This left the impressions with the color and the raised areas covered with black.

I used the stamp and die set also from this month's Spellbinders Club, and added a few matching flowers to play along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #295. (top row: floral, dry embossing, summer)

I would  also like to join in the following challenges:

Art Nudge - used the colors from the inspiration photo and the followed the beach theme
